After graduating from the University of Kansas with an MD, Dr. Gary Hunninghake embarked on a career in the medical sector that would include several hundred published articles, editorials, and book chapters, as well as numerous professional roles. He started his career as a Medical Officer for the National Institutes of Health, the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Dr. Gary Hunninghake later joined the National Heart, Blood, and Lung Institute’s pulmonary department as a Senior Investigator.
