Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned
in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts.
Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are
worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. All disassembly and all assembly procedures
must be performed on a clean work surface and in a clean hydraulic area. Keep cleaned parts
covered and protected at all times.
Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the
same sealing properties as a new O-ring. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the
assembly procedure.
Note: Apply a light film of hydraulic oil to all components before assembly.

1. Install O-ring (144) onto plug (143) .
2. Install plug (143). Tighten the plug to the following torque: 27 ± 3 N·m (20 ± 2 lb ft)
3. Install the following items onto valve assembly (139) : O-ring (140), seal (141) and O-ring
(142) .

4. Install valve assembly (139). Tighten the valve to the following torque: 70 ± 7 N·m (52 ± 5
lb ft)

6. Install spring (136) and install spool (137) .
8. Install the following four O-rings:
◦ One O-ring (132)
◦ One O-ring (133)
◦ Two O-rings (134)

9. Install three studs (7) and then install shims (131) onto the studs.
10. Install the following items onto the seat (126) : check ball (127), O-ring (128), seal (129)
and O-ring (130) .

11. Install seat (126). Tighten the seat to the following torque: 14 ± 2 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft)
12. Install spool assembly (120) .
13. Install the following items in order to secure the spool assembly into the valve body:
retainer (121), spring (122), coupling (123), retainer (124) and nut (125) .
Tighten the nut to the following torque: 10 ± 1.5 N·m (7 ± 1 lb ft)
14. Install spring (118) and install spool valve (119) .

17. Install the following items onto valve (109) : O-ring (110), seal (111), O-ring (112), O-ring
(113), O-ring (114) and seal (115) .
18. Install valve assembly (109). Tighten the valve assembly to the following torque: 14 ± 2
N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft)
19. Position O-ring (108) in place on inner cover housing (99) .

20. Place inner cover housing (99) into position. Install allen head screw (107) in order to
secure the inner cover housing in place.
Tighten the allen head screws to the following torque: 8 ± 1.5 N·m (71 ± 13 lb in)
21. Install the following items in outer cover (98) : O-ring (105), cap (104), spring (103),
plunger (102), spacer (101) and O-ring (100) .

22. Position outer cover (98) in place. Then install allen head screws (96) in order to secure
outer cover (98) in place on inner cover housing (99) .
24. Install plug (97) into the outer cover.
25. Install four O-rings in position on lift valve group (95) :
◦ One O-ring (93)
◦ One O-ring (94)

26. Carefully slide lift valve group (95) onto the studs. Then install shims (91) onto studs (7) .
27. Install the following items onto seat (86) : check ball (87), O-ring (88), seal (89) and O-ring
(90) .

29. Install spool assembly (80) .
30. Install the following items in order to secure spool assembly (80) into the valve body:
retainer (81), spring (82), coupling (83), retainer (84) and nut (85) .
Tighten the nut to the following torque: 10 ± 1.5 N·m (7 ± 1 lb ft)
31. Install the following items onto valve groups (75) and (76) : O-ring (77), seal (78) and O-
ring (79) .

32. Install valve group (75) and install valve group (76). Tighten the valve groups to the
following torque: 35 to 45 N·m (26 to 33 lb ft)
33. Install spring (73) and install spool valve (74) .

36. Install the following items onto valve (64) : O-ring (65), seal (66), O-ring (67), O-ring (68),
O-ring (69) and seal (70) .

37. Install valve assembly (64). Tighten the valve assembly to the following torque: 14 ± 2 N·m
(10 ± 1 lb ft)
38. Position O-ring (63) in place on inner cover housing (54) .

39. Position inner cover housing (54) in place. Then install allen head screw (62) in order to
secure the inner cover housing in place.
40. Install the following items into the outer cover (53) : O-ring (60), cap (59), spring (58),
plunger (57), spacer (56) and O-ring (55) .
41. Position outer cover (53) in place on inner cover housing (54). Then install allen head
screws (51) in order to secure the outer cover (53) in place.

43. Install plug (52) .
44. Position O-ring (49) in place on cover (48) .

45. Place cover (49) in the proper position. Then install allen head screws (48) in order to
secure cover (49) in position on the tilt valve group.
46. Install four O-rings onto the tilt valve group:
◦ One O-ring (45)
◦ One O-ring (46)
47. Carefully slide tilt valve group (47) onto the studs. Then install three shims (43) onto studs
(7) .
48. Install the following items onto the seat (38) : check ball (39), O-ring (40), seal (41) and O-
ring (42) .

50. Install spring (36) and then install spool (37) .
