PRAY 2 - ACTIVE IN SHARING YOUR FAITH - PTR. VETTY GUTIERREZ - 10AM MORNING SERVICE
1.
2.
3. 4
4 I always thank my God as I
remember you in my prayers,
5 because I hear about your faith in
the Lord Jesus and your love for all
the saints.
6 I pray that you may be active in
sharing your faith, so that you will
have a full understanding of every
good thing we have in Christ.
4. If there was something you
could pray for someone,
what is it?
5.
6. 4
4 I always thank my God as I
remember you in my prayers,
5 because I hear about your faith in
the Lord Jesus and your love for all
the saints.
6 I pray that you may be active in
sharing your faith, so that you will
have a full understanding of every
good thing we have in Christ.
7. Why do you think Paul
prayed that for his close
friend Philemon?
8. So that he would have a full
understanding of every good
thing we have in Christ.
15. We forget the importance of it. We
are selfish, afraid to be rejected.
16. We feel we are not qualified, or
sometimes we don’t know how
to share it.
17. If you fully understand our faith,
then you will share.
If you know the importance of it,
you will share.
If you know who you are and the
power of God in you, you will
share.
18. You will share your faith because
you know that it will change the
lives of the people you are
sharing to; and there will be a
great impact in their lives.
19.
20.
21. 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be
baptized, every one of you, in the
name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of your sins. And you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 The promise is for you and your
children and for all who are far off—
for all whom the Lord our God will
call.”
22. Have you come to a place
in your life that if you
died, you know that you
have done God’s purpose
in your life?
23. If not yet, then Pray for God’s will
be done in your life.
24.
25. 1 As he went along, he saw a man
blind from birth.
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who
sinned, this man or his parents, that
he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents
sinned,” said Jesus, “but this
happened so that the works of God
might be displayed in him.
26. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the
works of him who sent me. Night is
coming, when no one can work.
5 While I am in the world, I am the
light of the world.”
6 After saying this, he spit on the
ground, made some mud with the
saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.
27. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool
of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”).
So the man went and washed, and
came home seeing.
8 His neighbors and those who had
formerly seen him begging asked,
“Isn’t this the same man who used to
sit and beg?”
28. 9 Some claimed that he was. Others
said, “No, he only looks like him.” But
he himself insisted, “I am the man.”
10 “How then were your eyes opened?”
they asked.
11 He replied, “The man they call Jesus
made some mud and put it on my
eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and
wash. So I went and washed, and then
I could see.”
29. 12 “Where is this man?” they asked
him. “I don’t know,” he said.
30.
31. 4
7 When a Samaritan woman came to
draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will
you give me a drink?”
8 (His disciples had gone into the
town to buy food.)
9 The Samaritan woman said to him,
“You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan
woman. How can you ask me for a
drink?” (For Jews do not associate
with Samaritans.)
32. 4
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew
the gift of God and who it is that asks
you for a drink, you would have asked
him and he would have given you
living water.”
11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have
nothing to draw with and the well is
deep. Where can you get this living
water?
33. 4
12 Are you greater than our father
Jacob, who gave us the well and drank
from it himself, as did also his sons
and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who
drinks this water will be thirsty again,
14 but whoever drinks the water I give
them will never thirst. Indeed, the
water I give them will become in them
a spring of water welling up to eternal
life.”
34. 4
15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give
me this water so that I won’t get
thirsty and have to keep coming here
to draw water.”
16 He told her, “Go, call your husband
and come back.”
17 “I have no husband,” she replied.
Jesus said to her, “You are right when
you say you have no husband.
35. 4
18 The fact is, you have had five
husbands, and the man you now have
is not your husband. What you have
just said is quite true.”
19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see
that you are a prophet.
20 Our ancestors worshiped on this
mountain, but you Jews claim that the
place where we must worship is in
Jerusalem.”
36. 4
21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe
me, a time is coming when you will
worship the Father neither on this
mountain nor in Jerusalem.
22 You Samaritans worship what you
do not know; we worship what we do
know, for salvation is from the Jews.
37. 4
23 Yet a time is coming and has now
come when the true worshipers will
worship the Father in the Spirit and in
truth, for they are the kind of
worshipers the Father seeks.
24 God is spirit, and his worshipers
must worship in the Spirit and in
truth.”
38. 4
25 The woman said, “I know that
Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming.
When he comes, he will explain
everything to us.”
26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one
speaking to you—I am he.”
39.
40. 4
16 Once when we were going to the
place of prayer, we were met by a
female slave who had a spirit by
which she predicted the future. She
earned a great deal of money for her
owners by fortune-telling.
17 She followed Paul and the rest of
us, shouting, “These men are servants
of the Most High God, who are telling
you the way to be saved.”
41. 4
18 She kept this up for many days.
Finally Paul became so annoyed that
he turned around and said to the
spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I
command you to come out of her!” At
that moment the spirit left her.
42. 4
19 When her owners realized that their
hope of making money was gone,
they seized Paul and Silas and
dragged them into the marketplace to
face the authorities.
20 They brought them before the
magistrates and said, “These men are
Jews, and are throwing our city into
an uproar
21 by advocating customs unlawful for
us Romans to accept or practice.”
43. 4
22 The crowd joined in the attack
against Paul and Silas, and the
magistrates ordered them to be
stripped and beaten with rods.
23 After they had been severely
flogged, they were thrown into
prison, and the jailer was commanded
to guard them carefully.
24 When he received these orders, he
put them in the inner cell and
fastened their feet in the stocks.
44. 4
25 About midnight Paul and Silas
were praying and singing hymns to
God, and the other prisoners were
listening to them.
26 Suddenly there was such a violent
earthquake that the foundations of
the prison were shaken. At once all
the prison doors flew open, and
everyone’s chains came loose.
45. 4
27 The jailer woke up, and when he
saw the prison doors open, he drew
his sword and was about to kill
himself because he thought the
prisoners had escaped.
28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm
yourself! We are all here!”
29 The jailer called for lights, rushed
in and fell trembling before Paul and
Silas.
46. 4
30 He then brought them out and
asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be
saved?”
31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord
Jesus, and you will be saved—you and
your household.”
32 Then they spoke the word of the
Lord to him and to all the others in
his house.
47. 4
33 At that hour of the night the jailer
took them and washed their wounds;
then immediately he and all his
household were baptized.
34 The jailer brought them into his
house and set a meal before them; he
was filled with joy because he had
come to believe in God—he and his
whole household.
48. 4
35 When it was daylight, the
magistrates sent their officers to the
jailer with the order: “Release those
men.”
36 The jailer told Paul, “The
magistrates have ordered that you
and Silas be released. Now you can
leave. Go in peace.”
49. 4
37 But Paul said to the officers: “They
beat us publicly without a trial, even
though we are Roman citizens, and
threw us into prison. And now do
they want to get rid of us quietly? No!
Let them come themselves and escort
us out.”
38 The officers reported this to the
magistrates, and when they heard
that Paul and Silas were Roman
citizens, they were alarmed.
50. 4
39 They came to appease them and
escorted them from the prison,
requesting them to leave the city.
40 After Paul and Silas came out of the
prison, they went to Lydia’s house,
where they met with the brothers and
sisters and encouraged them. Then
they left.
51. A life that displayed the power of God.
A life that glorifies God.
A life that is dedicated to God.
A life that displays the presence of God.
52. 4
25 About midnight Paul and Silas
were praying and singing hymns to
God, and the other prisoners were
listening to them.
26 Suddenly there was such a violent
earthquake that the foundations of
the prison were shaken. At once all
the prison doors flew open, and
everyone’s chains came loose.
53. The best thing we could do
is to pray and actively
share our faith with full
understanding of every
good thing!
54.
55.
56.
57.
58. 6 I pray that you may be active in
sharing your faith, so that you will
have a full understanding of every
good thing we have in Christ.
60. Paul is saying, "Philemon, I know
you have fellowship as a priority,
I want it to be powerful;
I know you're concerned about
knowledge and I want it to be the
knowledge of every good thing
that is in you.
61. I know you want all of this for
Christ's sake," that's implied. In
other words, you're concerned
about the glory of Christ. You do
it unto Him.
62. The Christian life with all its
deeds, with all its joys, with all its
works, with all its responsibilities
is for the glory of Christ, it's for
Christ's sake, it's for Christ's
name, it's for Christ's praise, for
Jesus Christ's glory!
63. 16 For I am not ashamed of the
gospel, because it is the power of
God that brings salvation to everyone
who believes: first to the Jew, then to
the Gentile.
