2. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Our English teachers explained to us a different work. A
competition! The first fairy tales competition in English
for Pre-school and Primary schools.
First, the teachers explained that we had to do an
adaptation of a story. We could change the vocabulary,
the characters and the stage.
We chose “the very hungry caterpillar”
because it’s a fairy tale that we
worked in 1st grade.
3. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
The next day, Robina came to school and told us “the
very hungry caterpillar”. She’s the mum of our
classmate Zarar and she is an English teacher, too.
4. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
After that we watched a video explaining the
story “the very hungry caterpillar”.
5. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Next class, we all worked
together to think and
decide some things that we
could change about the
story. We did a
brainstorming and we
decided to make a stop
motion.
6. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
After that, we decided the groups to work. We
worked divided in five groups: Writers,
illustrators, publishers and two groups of the
making off. The groups were mixed with 5thA
and 5th B.
After deciding the groups, everybody started to
work.
7. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Writers’ task was reinventing the story. First, we
read again “the very hungry caterpillar”. Then,
we started introducing the new ideas decided
the previous class in the brainstorming.
8. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
We needed the help of a French teacher who works at
school and some parents who speak Arabic and
French.
9. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Publishers created a template with the
computer to decide the design of each page of
the book. We looked for different kinds of
camera shoots to decide the right one for each
page to build up the stop motion.
10. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Illustrators went to the library and took Art
books to look for ideas and decided to make a
collage with several materials.
11. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
When the writers finished the story and the
illustrators finished the design of the characters
and the stage, it was the time for the publishers.
They built up the story.
12. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Illustrators took more than 500 photos to make the
stop motion. It was a long work, but we enjoyed so
much!!
Helen helped us choosing the scrapbooking papers
for the illustrations.
13. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Students in the group of the making of took
pictures and made a report of all the process.
14. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
We recorded the story text in our School Radio.
Everyone had a sentence.
15. Making of “Two very hungry tadpoles”
Felip, the Music teacher, helped us with some
ICT tools to edit the video. He also created a
very beautiful music theme for our story.
