The Police was a band formed in 1977 by Stewart Copeland, with Sting and Henry Padovani as original members. Padovani was later expelled for his lack of guitar skills, and was replaced by Andy Summers. The Police went on to release 6 albums between 1978-1983, gaining fame with their second album Reggatta de Blanc, and were influenced by genres including reggae, punk and jazz.
