1. Two-year, $500K National Leadership Grant from Institute of
Museum and Library Services (IMLS) began in November 2013
Pilots programming at Providence Public Library and Cranston
Public Library, two large urban libraries
Anticipates and aligns with new Workforce Innovation and
Opportunity Act (WIOA) legislation that recognizes potential for
libraries in workforce and education systems
Engages partners from across the workforce system, public
libraries, adult education, technology access, and digital literacy
Targets the needs of underserved populations: adults with
disabilities, low literacy, low digital literacy, and/or low English
literacy
Utilizes and supports the RI Resource Hub
Offers informal learning; assistive technology resources, support
and training; and technology appointments
