Improve joint conformity and reduce point loading by
• Increasing surface area of contact
• Decrease muscle force across joint
• Reorienting weight bearing surface of joint
• Can be proximal femoral, pelvic or both

• Congenital: coxa vara, DDH
• Traumatic: malunited tr
• Vascular: AVN, Perthes
• Degnerative: Early OA
• SUFE

• Reconstructive
• Salvage
• Mainly DDH

• Stiffness
• Inflammatory disease
• Significant OA

6. Femoral Osteotomy

• Extension
