I’m Derek Quinlan and this is my collection of thoughts about books that I have read over the last few years. I am a recently graduated student with a passion for all things literature. I enjoy thinking critically about literature, and unpacking my favourite books to see how they work. I do not have a favourite genre when it comes to literature, and will give anything a go. This has led me down some strange paths in terms books I wouldn’t normally read, but I feel as though it has given me a stronger critical insight and therefore has made me a fairer, more open-minded critic. These short presentations will be a distillation of my thoughts on a particular book or even a scene.
