On March 7, 2009, he received the "The Spirit of Service' award by John and Christine Colley, who had previously chaired The Arthritis Foundation. David donated $775,000 for a new athletic facility to the Albany Academy for Girls. The academy honored him by naming the athletic facility after his name.

He is also the executive producer of the movie "The Skeptic" which was produced under the banner of Saratoga Studios. This movie was appreciated by the viewers for its combination of horror and thriller.
