Cannabis users are left wondering WTH?

The FBI Recently announced that if you smoke cannabis 24 times after you turn 18 – you are ineligible to become an
agent but they did not say “why”.
Why 24 times? Why not 12? What happens to people who are over the age of 18-years-old who smoke 24 for times? Is
there something that the government isn’t telling us?
There was a reason why the agency didn’t clarify their position on the policy change – there is no logic behind it! It’s an
arbitrary number assigned to show the people that they are “hip” and “with it”. They are being progressive – except, they
aren’t.
The reason the FBI originally loosened its restrictions on cannabis use was because they were having issues with
staffing.

In a recent Marijuana Moment article (https://www.marijuanamoment.net/fbi-clarifies-that-using-marijuana-more-than-
24-times-disqualifies-would-be-agents/), they outlined that former FBI Director James Comey said, “I have to hire a great
work force to compete with those cyber criminals and some of those kids want to smoke weed on the way to the
interview,” he said in 2014.
Their problem was that the people who are savvy enough to stop cyber criminals tend to be major potheads. With their
strict anti-cannabis stance, this meant that they couldn’t hire talent simply because of their personal choice of
consumption.
To create some legal space, they kept on shifting the threshold of acceptance to accommodate the workforce issue –
and it seems that after a few years they came to the conclusion that 24 is the magical number to indicate whether
someone is “fit” for work or not.
However – to fully understand this position you need to understand the federal governments position on drug use and
“why” they are so adamant to barre people from doing any kind of drugs – except the legal ones of course! Smoke as
much tobacco and drink as much alcohol as you’d like!
Stipulations in Immigration Policy Sheds Light
The only reason why the government is against cannabis use or any other “illicit drug use” is due to the same reason
why someone applying for citizenship would be denied if they admit to smoking marijuana – even in places where it’s
legal.
A policy alert in 2019 said the following;
“U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is issuing a policy guidance to clarify the violation of federal controlled
substance law, including for marijuana, remains a conditional bar to establish good moral character (GMC)”
Could this be the same reason why would-be FBI agents who smoke weed are disqualified from joining the agency?
On the Agency website they have this to say;

“The FBI balances the needs of the organization and the importance of keeping the public integrity necessary to accomplish its
law enforcement and intelligence missions by hiring the most qualified candidates.”
Once again, we can infer that the federal government believes that anyone who consumed any “illegal substance” has a
poor moral character.
However, if you drink alcohol or smoke tobacco or partake in the myriad of legal drugs – somehow your moral character
is not altered. However, a better question would be – is it wise for the United States government to legislate morality?
Some people think that the government should legislate morality, however – there is a difference between ethics and
morality.
The government did try to legislate morality at one point in time – it was the first time they prohibited alcohol. This
move was primarily motivated by morality.
Here’s a snippet from the Atlantic that explains this;
A century ago, Prohibition went into effect around the United States, and the evangelical Protestants who had fought for 80
years to make it a reality celebrated. With the ratification of the Eighteenth Amendment, which proscribed “the manufacture,
sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors” across the United States, they had achieved something unparalleled by any
movement before or since: They had introduced a new moral decree into the Constitution. In doing so, they believed that they
had enshrined Protestant virtue in American life and saved the country from decay—forever. - SOURCE
(https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/01/prohibition-was-failed-experiment-moral-governance/604972/)
We know how that turned out. It was the only amendment in US history to have been repealed.
The War on Drugs is also a war motivated by morality, since the US government utilizes “drug use” as an indicator for
“poor moral character”.
Yet, there is no scientific evidence to support this notion. If this were true, then every person who drinks alcohol are
technically “immoral” – since ethanol is a drug. Every tobacco user should be considered “immoral” for the same
reasons.

Hell – if you drink coffee, you’re using the drug “caffeine” which – by the definition of Uncle Sam should make you a
person of “poor moral character”.
Of course this isn’t true – the only reason why “illegal drugs” are considered to be metrics of character is because of
“illegality of it”. You have “poor moral character” because you break the law by using them.
But wasn’t it Thomas Jefferson who wrote; "If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so."
Aren’t the war on drugs and the laws that prohibit these so called “illegal drugs” unjust laws? Isn’t it then your duty as an
American to disobey them? Wouldn’t using drugs in this instance be a judge of “good moral character?”
Ask any minority how moral these laws are.
How moral is it to slap HSBC with a fine for laundering money from drug cartels
(https://www.icij.org/investigations/fincen-files/hsbc-moved-vast-sums-of-dirty-money-after-paying-record-laundering-
fine/) and terrorist organizations (and more recent offences (https://www.icij.org/investigations/fincen-files/hsbc-moved-

of weed? (https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/530758-man-sentenced-to-life-for-selling-20-in-marijuana-

No one went to jail in the HSBC case.
All we are left asking is; “Whose morals are we legislating?”
The Sticky Bottom
The FBI announces (https://cannabis.net/blog/opinion/is-the-fbi-sticking-their-nose-into-the-cannabis-industry-good-
news-or-bad-news) that it now will “permit” people to get high 24 times without consequence when they are 18 and
older, yet on the 25th time – for some magical reason, they are no longer “fit for service”.
This all might sound ridiculous to any rational mind – that’s because it is!

At this point it seems that the federal government is mocking the people. By now, it should be obvious for anyone who’s
paying attention who the government serves – it certainly isn’t you!

As soon as South Africa’s master plan got underway, varying merger corporate cannabis deals started to occur amongst industry players. For example, in May,
Labat Africa offered R11.25 million ($816 000) to get a 75% stake in Leaf Botanicals. Now Leaf Botanicals is one of the local companies with a cannabis

What is Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS)?
It’s every cannabis lover’s nightmare. Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) is a very rare syndrome that affects long-term, heavy users of THC-rich cannabis.
Its symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. In extreme cases, CHS-sufferers can experience severe weight loss and
dehydration, which can lead to muscle spasms, seizures, and kidney failure if not treated. In rare cases, it can even lead to death.
