Sokoshin (Sokushin-butsu, to become a Buddha) is a singular name for an agoraphobic artist. Sokoshin is a French painter and musician of Italian origin, born in Nice in 1967. He was trained at the Municipal School of Plastic Arts Villa Thiole in Nice and began working in 1987 as a graphic designer and illustrator , using computer-aided design. Suffering from agoraphobia for several years, it was impossible for him to leave his home. In order to overcome what he calls his "evil", he was able to take advantage of the difficulties he encountered, the enrichment of his inner life and the way in which this phobia was a creative engine. He thus developed a unique artistic signature, alternating between crowd scenes and tormented perspectives, without having to leave his home. Spectacular, these works are distinguished by their frank and spontaneous tones but also by their distorted geometry.
