Dear Mom,
I am so happy to be here, on Mars. This is an amazing planet. My
journey was not so OK. We are wearing a thick costume and oxygen mask. I am
feeling heavier than I was before, but as soon as we entered the space, we all
started floating … That was a wonderful
moment, I just can’t explain it to you in
words. But, at the same time we had to take care that we don’t hit each other. The
food is not tasty, the food is in a tube which looks like a toothpaste.... Whenever I
eat, I feel like I am eating toothpaste!!!But, don’t worry, I am not eating toothpaste,
the food looks like a toothpaste. But, I really miss our homemade, healthy and tasty
food.
You remember, I always wondered, why this planet is called, “the red planet”. Now, I
understood why it’s called the red planet. When we saw Mars from a far away
distance, it looked like a red ball. But, compared to Earth, Mars is small. Me and my
friends were so excited to go out and see what it feels like to be on Mars.
As soon as we got out of the spaceship, we felt the change in the atmosphere.
Everything was red, red and red. I thought that there will be plants on Mars because
plants need Carbon Dioxide and Mars has a thick layer of Carbon Dioxide but, I
completely forgot about water and soil, Mars doesn’t have water and layer of soil.
We all were so excited to take pictures and videos. We saw the highest mountain in
the solar system, “Olympus Mons.” I am feeling so proud of myself that I am on
Mars today.
We have to be here and observe for next 20 days. But, we will meet soon and I am
going to write another letter to you….. so, I hope you will get this letter fast and
reply!
