Kodiak is a small town in Alaska that you probably have never heard of. It is just like you’d

in an unexpected spotlight.
Pitbull was part of a promotion by Walmart and Sheets Energy Strips in which he’d visit and
perform in the town whose Walmart page got the most likes on Facebook.
Well, the promotion didn’t go as anticipated – someone decided to pull a prank and started an
online campaign to get most Facebook likes for Kodiak’s Walmart. And the efforts were
successful as Kodiak with population of about 6,000, received over 70,000 likes beating other
locations.
Although a surprising outcome, Walmart and Sheets Energy Strips will surely be happy with the
media buzz over this fascinating twist. Pitbull has also been a terrific sport about the outcome
and has even invited the individual, who started the initiative, to his performance in Kodiak.
