Looking for your first home in Winnipeg?
It seems there has never been a better time to buy a home than right now: Interest rates are low,
the economic outlook is positive and there are LOTS of homes on the market, at least when
compared to recent markets in Winnipeg.
Lots of Open Houses to go and look at, but remember that the agent at the Open House already
represents the Home Seller!
So what is the best course of action for buying your first home
Step 1: Contact a real estate agent
Actually, even before you start looking at Open Houses, hire your own agent who will represent
you, and look out for YOUR interests. Bo Kauffmann of Remax performance realty offers a
FREE 45-minute consultation for home buyers in Winnipeg. Get started off on the right foot.

Step 2: Get Pre-approved with a lender

Ask your real estate agent for a referral to a great lender. Chance are, your agent will have a good
working relationship with a mortgage broker or mortgage specialist and can get you start off right
away.
Step 3: Look at houses or condos
After your pre-approval, the fun stuff starts. Go look at homes within your price range, and even
drop by Open Houses.
Step 4: Make an offer
Here is where hiring your own agent pays off the most. Your agent will help you craft a nice
offer, while keeping you protected.
Even after your offer is accepted, a great real estate agent will have a team of professionals to
help you in every step. Home Insurance, Lawyer, Mover, Home Inspector, etc etc.
I love First Time buyers because they ask a lot of questions, and I really like the interaction this
brings. If you're looking for your first (or next) home, whether its a house or a condo, call me
anytime. Bo Kauffmann of REMAX performance realty. (204) 333-2202
