A talk delivered to the 2015 Graduating class of medical students from the University of Wollongong, Graduate School of Medicine by Dr Bishan Rajapakse. Bishan holds a doctorate from ANU is also currently finishing off his training as an Emergency Medicine specialist. At this forum he delivered a motivational talk about his reflections on emergency medicine given his own diverse training journey, and provided some practical advice to the future doctors of the Illawarra region which include surprise, laughter, music and a bit of poetry...
Most doctors are on the superhighway of career success, are not on a medical pathway that address global issues, Bishan also talked a bit about the importance of addressing such challenges, which are one of many factors that led him to take a detour from the traditional path of medical training into a world of adventure and research
