1. In Polish there are four verbs that mean “to go”.
Iść and jechać are used for a single action at a
specific time. They can refer to an action
currently happening or to a future action
resulting from present plans. They correspond to
the English present continuous tense e.g. “I am
going”.
Iść refers to travel on foot.
Jechać refers to refer to travel by a vehicle.
2. Chodzić and jeździć are used for a repeated or
habitual action. They correspond to the
English present simple tense e.g. “I go”.
Chodzić refers to travel on foot.
Jeździć refers to travel by a vehicle.
3. Jutro idę do kina.
Tomorrow I am going to the cinema.
Czasami chodzę do kina.
I sometimes go to the cinema.
Teraz jedzie do Poznania.
Now she is going to Poznań.
Często jeździ do Poznania.
She often goes to Poznań.
