with in its glorious 24 years history in implementation of clean cookstoves and related activities CRT/N has been carrying out research and development activities in Clean Cookstoves for more than a decade with small biomass laboratory with few equipment in the past. With support from GACC led by UNF It has now been able to develop into a regional laboratory for cookstoves testing with the introduction of the most recent, accurate and efficient equipment called LEMS. The staffs operating this equipment have been trained by the Aprovecho Research Centre (ARC) consultants.
Within the period of 6 months the Centre has successfully commemorated some notable events. The project formally began in November 2012 while the laboratory was set up and the RTKC staffs were trained to use the upgraded equipments following latest protocol development during April 2013. The formal Inauguration of the RTKC lab took place on 6th of June 2013 in the presence of renowned cardiologist Dr Mrigendraraj Pandey and AEPC ED Prof. Dr. Govindraj Pokhrel. Since then the laboratory has been fully functional and has been providing testing services to clients.
Besides these RTKC has been following the developments in cookstoves in the international arena and is trying to fill the gap through various activities making good use of its global networks.
