Bettering Communication ATB Consulting
Identifying the Problem Spoke with employees of Wegmans Potomac Unsatisfied with lack of communication Effort is small to get out information Information mostly passed on through word of mouth If employee was to know something, typically said employee must search for it, rather than be readily available
Talking with Employees By talking with employees, I was able to find out better what they thought about communication within the store: ,[object Object]
Twenty-one employees had a FaceBook account, two admitted to only using it occasionally
All twenty-five had email email accounts that they said were checked every day or every other day,[object Object]
Solution Using FaceBook Create a page on FaceBook that will only allow for people added to the page to see it Only employees will be able to read information to know what is going on in the store Employees can respond and converse about information using FaceBook FaceBook is reliable and well known and used
Technology In a day and age where children are being brought up around computers, it’s time companies start implementing them more into their daily practice A large amount of Wegmans employees have a FaceBook account, thus wouldn’t have to learn anything new Email is widely used, while no email address is given to employee, it’s more than likely employee already has one
