Alexandra Rush, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Human Development at Empire State University with expertise in human developmental science. Her research examines how families and individuals rebuild meaningful lives after experiencing collective trauma, such as war. She focuses on intergenerational transmission of trauma, resilience, and posttraumatic growth, while also examining youth purpose and identity formation using qualitative and mixed methods approaches. She began her studies at Douglass College of Rutgers University, where she majored in psychology and first explored questions of resilience and adaptation.
