4. Here we have found a question that needs a grammar clean up. Click on “ Improve. ” A Merge can start out many ways.

5. Type in the proper wording

6. You will get a notice that your new version already exists, click to Merge If an answer is present, and you do not want it to become part of the new primary question, you will need to delete it before Merging them together.

7. The other way to Merge is when you already know the wording of the question you want to merge it into. In this case click Merge.

8. Type in the desired wording and click Merge. Be sure to review the guidelines below!

9. Now you are finished - or are you? Let’s check those alternates first.

10. Do they fit the criteria we discussed? If not, check the ones that don’t belong.

11. Once you have checked all the bad alternates, click on “ Split. ”

12. You will get a highlighted message. Make sure they are all categorized correctly. Click on “ edit categories ” to make changes.

13. The Recategorizing screen will pop up. Check off the most relevant category or categories.

14. Since there is no category for Ryan O’Neal, the best category is Actors and Actresses. Check the box and click “ Save .”

15. Go back and repeat for the rest of the split wordings that need recategorizing… and then you are done.
