Indian entity with ancient roots in Marksville,
Louisiana. Tribe member Andre Dobison directs

the Avoyel-Taensa people. Visitors can learn about a
variety of aspects of the tribe, including the history
and geography of its settlement, early pottery,
chronicled milestones, and even members’ historical
and unique relationship with the Sassafras Tree.

efforts, gatherings, other events, and detailed contact
information for tribe officials.
