Compare and Contrast paper

The two Arabian folktales Ali Baba and the Forty thieves, and
Aladdin have many similarities and differences. Comparing these
two folktales helped me understand the great stories better.
There are many similarities in these two folktales. One similarity
is that in both stories there was a secret cave. The caves where full
of treasures. In Ali Baba there was gold coins. In Aladdin there was
a magic lamp and a magic carpet!
Aladdin is a young, poor "street rat". Also Ali Baba is a poor man
that lives in a small town. Both characters end up with the best! So
that is another similarity.
In Ali Baba there is a magic rock that opens when you say "Open
Sesame". In Aladdin there is a genie that comes out of a magic lamp.
So another thing that was the same was that there was magic used
in both stories.
Also in these two folktales, Aladdin and Ali Baba and the Forty
Thieves, there are many differences too! In Aladdin the animals
talk, the parrot talks, he talks evil. But in Ali Baba the animals are
2. just animals they don't talk or dance, they're just normal animals.
Another difference is that Aladdin was based around the love
that Aladdin and Princess Jasmin had toward each other. But in Ali
Baba the characters only want to be rich, and have a lot of gold
coins.
Another difference is that in Aladdin the bad guy turned into a
genie, because he wanted to be the most powerful man in the
Universe. But he got put into the the Cave of Wonders, untill
another person found it. In Ali Baba, the bad guy got killed by Ali
Baba's maid, Morgiana.
The last difference I noticed was that in Ali Baba the thing that
caused the problem is that everybody wanted the most money to be
the richest man. But in Aladdin, the thing that caused the problem
was that one lonely boy wanted to marry the kind, rich, princess
Jasmin.
These two folktales had many similarities and differences, that
made the two Arabian folktales fun to watch and read. They were
both really good, but I liked the story Aladdin better. Ali Baba and
Aladdin are both really well told Arabian folktales, I love them
both!
