Child labor is work done by children under the age of fifteen. Some children are as young as four years old when they start to work. Often the work is harmful to their health and safety. Many children work in dangerous or unhealthy conditions such as: rug factories, mines, or factories which use dangerous chemicals, fireworks, or matches. What is child labor?
Where is child labor? Child labor is in a lot of places. It's really big in Africa. It used to be in America in like the '20s but now its against the law.
Who does child labor? Most countries have some form of child labor; some have more than others. Child labor occurs when a community, a region, or a country is very poor and every member of a family must contribute to the economy of the family in order to survive. In countries that have limited areas of hard poverty, child labor would still be found. The most obvious might be in the entertainment field but there is everything else from farm labor to prostitution.
CAUSES CHILD LABOR TODAY: - Poverty is widely considered the top reason why children work at inappropriate jobs for their ages. But there are other reasons as well -- not necessarily in this order: family expectations and traditions abuse of the child lack of good schools and day care lack of other services, such as health care public opinion that downplays the risk of early work for children uncaring attitudes of employers limited choices for women
Effects CHILD LABOR:- : There are several effects of child labour, both on the child and the society. Child gets deprived from the basic education and the society also suffers due to this.
SOME SOLUTIONS TO CHILD LABOR:- Increased family incomes Education — that helps children learn skills that will help them earn a living Social services — that help children and families survive crises, such as disease, or loss of home and shelter Family control of fertility — so that families are not burdened by children  The ILO’s International Programme for the Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC) has explored many programs to help child laborers.
Child Labor Facts:- 1- Reported 67,000 children work. 2-The majority of working children were found in:  the agricultural sector (57.0 percent) services (30.9 percent) manufacturing (7.3 percent)  other sectors (4.8 percent) 3- Minimum age for full-time employment is15 years of age
