Abdul M. Bakhrani is an entrepreneur, innovator, and visionary who has over 15 years of experience in the Satellite and Communications industry, and also has extensive knowledge on the content delivery and advertising industries. Abdul is passionate about bringing affordable, and reliable Information and Communication technologies to rural areas. He is the key driver behind the Rural Internet Kiosk (RIK) project, and the Solar Powered Advanced Rural Communication (SPARC) initiative, both of which will bring solar powered Internet connectivity to remote areas across Africa. In 2010, Abdul was honoured as Africa's Satellite Personality of the Year at the SatCom Star Awards.
