Abstract art diverges from aesthetic and realistic norms to engage the viewer’s
imagination and help them expand their perspective. Driven by artistic freedom
and the intuition of both artist and viewer, abstract art asks people to look
beyond shapes and color to access a more intangible emotion conveyed
through the canvas.
A form of art that emerged in the nineteenth century in response to overly
academic painting and staunch realism, abstract art does not strive to create a
singular meaning or narrative. When experiencing abstract art, allow yourself as

judgments and focus on the feelings it helps you access. A highly subjective art
