2. Curtis Reis Men’s
Open Finals
As we mentioned before the last
match left in the Curtis Reis Men’s
Open was the final. Lev Kazakov was
looking to face his teammate Colin
Sinclair for the title.
Lev was on a mission from the very
beginning. He knew he had to bring
his best game in order to beat Col-
in and that is exactly what he did.
Serving well and being rock solid off
the ground, he was impossible to be
beaten. Lev took the match in a de-
cisive fashion leaving no doubt that
he is currently playing some of the
best tennis within the Cornell Tennis
team. We are looking forward to him
continuing to get better and making
the necessary additions to take his
game to another level. Although he is
playing some great tennis he has a tre-
mendous amount of room to improve.
The final score of the final was 6-2 6-1
in his favor.

3. Spring 2017
Schedule
With the season over, we wanted to
share with you a moment we’ve all been
waiting for a long time: our 2017 Spring
Schedule. This schedule is as exciting as
it gets. It has tough teams, a lot of great
home matches but most importantly a
great challenge to prepare us for the Ivy
League and the NCAA tournament at
the end of the season.
For the first time in a long time we are
starting with Buffalo and Binghamton
in a double header on January 19th. The
following week we will be traveling to
Boston where we will be facing BYU
and Tennessee, the 2010 NCAA Final-
ist team. We will follow that trip with
another one to State College where Penn
State will be waiting for us on February
5th. We will come home the following
weekend where we will face St Johns on
February 11th. ECAC will be next for us
on Feb 17th, 18th, and 19th. This time
the event will be hosted at Princeton and
we are looking forward to it. With the
event coinciding with our short Spring
Break and being relatively close to New
York, we are planning on organiz-
ing an alumni event on Sunday the
19th or Monday the 20th.
We are excited to announce that
the following week, Feb 24th
and Feb 26th we will be hosting
Clemson University and Wiscon-
sin University respectively. We
are very excited to have both of
those teams traveling to Ithaca.
The team will travel the following
two weekends to play the Indiana
Hoosiers on March 3rd and the
Memphis Tigers on March 5th.
The highlight of our out of sea-
son schedule will take place the
following weekend where we will
travel to play Wichita State Uni-
versity on March 11th and none
other than the University of Okla-
homa (the last three years NCAA
Finalists) on March 12th.
Drake University will visit us on
March 25th after which we will be
opening the Ivy League season.
Our first match, as always, will be
against Columbia on April 1st in
the city.
Following that match, we have
Princeton at home on April 7th

4. Spring Schedule

and Penn away on April 9th.
Next weekend we will travel to play
Dartmouth on the 15th. and Harvard on
the 16th. Finishing off, we are competing
at home against Yale on the 22nd and
Brown on the 23rd to finish off the sea-
son.
As you can see great teams ahead for
us to compete against. We are looking
forward to your support at any of these
matches.
We also want to wish all of you and your
families Happy Holidays in advance!!!
