• Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur: The Deputy
Magistrate/Deputy Collector of Puri had a dream of
Lord Jagannatha: Requested someone from his
personal servants.
• The kid was born was named Bimla Prasad.
• During the Ratha-yatra, the chariot stopped in front
of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s house, and
Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati’s mother took the 6
months old kid onto the chariot; and a garland from
Lord Jagannatha fell directly onto the baby–
blessings.
4. Only ate Prasadam:
Food offered to the Lord
• One day, when Bimala Prasada was still a
child of no more than four years, his father
mildly rebuked him for eating a mango not
yet duly offered to Lord krishna. Bimala
Prasada, although only a child, considered
himself an offender to the Lord and vowed
never to eat mangoes again.
• By the time Bimala Prasada was seven years
old, he had memorized the entire
Bhagavad-gita and could even explain its
verses.
5. Expert at Mathematics and Astrology
• Bimala Prasad was Awarded the title Siddhanta Saraswati by his
tutors, Pandit Mahesh Chandra Chauramani and Pandit Sundar Lal.
• He used to debate everyone he met on all sorts of subjects. No one
who argued with him was ever able to defeat him.
• Just as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu had defeated a great scholar, Kesava
Kasmiri at a young age, so similarly Bimala Prasad once, during his
later college days, debated a scholar named Panchanana
Sahityacharya, the disciple of Vasudeva Sastri, a very famous
professor of that time on topics of astrological calculation.
• Defeated the arguments of many Sahajiya groups that were existing
during early 1900s.
6. Got initiated from Gaurkishore Das Babaji
• Srila Gaura Kisora dasa Babaji many a
times had lived with Bhaktivinode
Thakura.
• Srila Bhaktisidhhanta Sarasvati by
gradually observing him, realized that a
pure Vaishnava only can be of such
exemplary character. He felt his false ego
diminished seeing Babaji.
• He asked him for initiation and after
asking him for 3 times.
7. Established 64 Temples in India and Abroad
on Gaudiya Vaishnavism
• He coined the terms in the English language,
of the Gaudiya Vaishnava terminology like
Ishwarah Pramah Krishna: Krishna the
Supreme Personality of Godhead.
• He tried many methods of Preaching like
wearing English costumes and staying in
modern cars like Limousine to building
opulent temples.
