How Is Eyebrow Threading Done?
Eyebrow threading is an effective alternative to tweezing and waxing. When performed
by a hair and beauty specialist, eyebrow threading can provide a very precise eyebrow
shape that frames the face. While originally practiced by women in India and the Middle
East, eyebrow threading has become popular in the U.S. and other locations around the
world. Eyebrow threading is performed using a pure cotton thread that twists the hair,
pulling out an entire row at a time. This method is generally preferred over tweezing as is
creates naturally straight lines and removes multiple hairs at once. Use this step-by-step
guide to learn about the process of eyebrow threading when completed by a hair and
beauty professional.
1. The practitioner begins by holding one end of the
cotton thread, while forming a loop with the
     other hand.
2. The cotton thread is then twisted and pulled
along the area of unwanted hair growth. The
thread lifts the hair from the follicles, directly up
     from the roots.
3. The lower area of the eyebrow is first threaded,
before the practitioner moves up to the center
area, and finally the top section of the eyebrows.
4. Once the eyebrows are shaped, the practitioner may wipe the face with dry cotton
     to move excess hairs.
5. Astringent is generally applied to the skin to reduce redness that is a common side
     effect of eyebrow threading.
There are many benefits of eyebrow threading compared to alternative methods of hair
removal. First of all, eyebrow threading is generally inexpensive compared to
professional waxing at hair and beauty salons. Even professional eyebrow tweezing can
cost upwards of $15 or more per session. Eyebrow threading is also very precise,
allowing greater control by the practitioner. The eyebrow shape is usually better defined
and fits nicely with the facial features of each individual.
When eyebrow threading is performed on an ongoing basis, the hair typically grows back
slower and thinner. Side effects are usually mild or completely eliminated with this
method of hair removal. Irritation and skin rashes are common in waxing as the top layer
of skin is removed during the process. In eyebrow threading, no skin is removed and
therefore, no side effects usually occur after the procedure.
Eyebrow threading has become a popular hair and beauty trend in locations all over the
globe. If you’re looking for a more effective hair removal process, eyebrow threading may
be the ideal choice for your hair removal needs.
