2. Welcome!
The Stanislaus County Bicycle Club invites
you to ride the 2016 Golden Hills Gran Fondo

Three great routes!
We love riding here and hope you will, too.
Your day begins with a mass start for the
Gran & Medio Fondo at 8 a.m.; the Piccolo
rolls away at 10 a.m. All routes have full
support with rest stops and SAG. All the
routes have chip-timed sections so you can
test your speed!
Gran Fondo
This 103 mile Gran Fondo has 3,800 feet of elevation gain. If you choose to, increase your spin
rate over the three 4-mile timed segments and test your speed and stamina. No prizes are
awarded, but your time will be good for bragging rights at the finish! This challenge takes you
on country roads to Turlock Lake State Recreation Area and Woodward Reservoir. In between,
experience the countryside as you pass cattle ranches and orchards.
Medio Fondo
The 66 mile metric century has 2,402 feet of elevation gain and two 4-mile timed sections
along the route. Your ride heads south and east toward historic La Grange, a Gold Rush town
settled by French miners in the 1850s.
Piccolo Fondo
Families aren’t left out of the hilly action: This 25 mile ride has 1,025 feet of elevation gain and
one 4-mile timed section. This short ride showcases the area’s orchards along the way.
Following your ride, feast on a delicious post-ride meal as you recount your times with your
riding buds and listen to live country and blues by The Poorhouse Millionaires.
