Conventional oil is the most affordable but requires more frequent changes around every 3,000-5,000 miles. Synthetic oil provides better protection and performance and can be changed less often at around 10,000 miles. Synthetic blend oil offers benefits of both conventional and synthetic at a lower cost, needing changes every 7,500 miles. High-mileage oil is suited for older vehicles with over 75,000 miles to reduce leaks and consumption.

1. 8 tips for teaching your teen how to drive
Are you about to start teaching your teen how to drive? It can be an anxiety-provoking
experience for both of you, but there are ways to prepare yourself ahead of time and take some
of the stress out of the equation. Check out these Orlando Toyota tips for teaching your teen
how to drive and make it a positive experience for everyone!
Teach your teen how to drive with as little stress as possible
Tip 1: Set a good example.
Your teen will likely imitate your driving habits, so you may want to rethink racing to beat those
yellow lights or cutting people off in traffic. Set a good example from the get-go so your teen
driver will follow suit.
Tip 2: Make sure your teen is actually ready to get behind the wheel.
Is your teen excited and asking to get behind the wheel? Make sure they’re ready for the
experience and don’t push them to learn how to drive if they’re not ready. The last thing you
want is an anxious first-time driver in control of your Orlando Toyota.
Tip 3: Prepare them if you can.
It’s best to give your teen knowledge of how to drive before you start teaching them and a
driver’s education course can take care of that pretty quickly. Let them learn the rules of the
road before they climb into the driver’s seat!
2. Tip 4: Choose the right time and place.
You want to ensure that you teach your teen how to drive during the day in good weather
conditions. You can teach them drive in snow, rain, ice, and at night later when they have more
experience under their belt. You should also be particular about where you teach them to drive.
Start in an empty parking lot until they’re familiar with how to maneuver the car, and then move
into a quiet residential area. From there you can take on busier streets and heavy traffic, and
finally graduate to the highway.
Tip 5: Instead of lecturing, ask questions.
It’s tempting to give a lecture, especially if your teen isn’t exhibiting the best driving habits.
However, this will likely make them defensive and nervous. Instead of saying things like “You
need to slow down, you’re going to get a ticket!”, ask questions like “What’s the speed limit in
this area?”
Tip 6: Be a good coach.
Be a good coach when teaching your teen how to drive. Stay calm, encouraging, and positive
will make it a much better experience for you both than if you yell, scold, or criticize.
Tip 7: Rethink how you give instructions.
Your teen is learning how to drive, so you want to give them more time to execute maneuvers
and make decisions. Instead of saying “Make a right turn now”, say “You’re going to make a
right turn in one block, so be ready”. This gives them time to think about the maneuver and
execute it slowly and carefully.
Tip 8: Be their second set of eyes.
Your teen driver will likely be focused on the road ahead of them, and it’ll take time to teach
them how to drive while still being aware of the other three sides of the vehicle. Be their second
set of eyes until they hone this skill so you can keep both of you safe.
