2. Fabricated twenty large canvas swings for a winner of the Winter
Stations design competition held by RAW Design. A worldwide group
of designers and architects submitted proposals for ways to transform
unused lifeguard towers into refuges from the cold. Worked with RAW
to orchestrate the execution of the design, providing an efficient and
rugged construction of the textile portion of the assembly. We sourced
the required materials and completed all the preparatory work and
fabrication in house.

3. Designed a device to increase the efficiency of fabric sheet stack
laying. The spreader rolls along a track atop a custom built cutting
table using rollerblade chassis and wheels. It was hand-brazed like
a fine bicycle by a local craftsperson to my specifications and has
become an indispensible tool in my studio.

4. Originally conceved and commissioned by artist Pascal Pacquette to
crown the annual summer party for architecture firm RAW Design.
We constructed the supersize 48’x60’ canvas by assembling multiple
oversized rolls of heavy duty canvas. Using our strengths in fabric
manipulation and project coordination we were able to deliver an
unparalleled platform for the artist to create a unique experience for
the revellers. The final piece was hung from a crane, providing a
spectacular backdrop for a fun summer evening of art and play.

5. The Action Pack is designed to be a do-anything bag built for adventure
and to stand the test of time. Made with nearly entirely North American
made materials and featuring innovative hardware from Germany and
the US Army, it was launched via a successful Kickstarter campaign
that reached 340% of its goal. The purpose of the funding was to
acquire several critical machines necessary in creating long-lasting and
dependable textile goods. Using these tools and managing a small
crew of skilled staff, we completed and delivered all rewards on time to
a worldwide audience. Several hundred backpacks are now proudly
circling the globe on the backs of people that recognize the value and
importance of handcrafted goods.

6. The beginning stages of a new design and potential eventual
product. Long considered, my goal with this chassis is to accomplish
a goldilocks scenario that has so far not been achieved. This also
represents the tip of an iceberg of ideas that I am exploring with
3D CAD modelling. I had the file 3D printed as an exercise and to
gain a better understanding of the process. Once the shape and
specifications are finalised the frame will be CNC milled from a solid
block of UHMW.

7. Worked in collaboration with Alex Young to adapt and fabricate 50
varied punching bags in a recreation of the Workout Keyboard by
Berlin design studio Bless. Each bag featured a heat-pressed vinyl
character and were arranged to form a QWERTY keyboard that
users could punch their statements into. The original artist’s goal
was to explore combining work and leisure time in a playful way. This
instance of the keyboard was assembled at Yonge-Dundas Square for
a promotional event for Manulife Financial’s Vitality program.

8. In collaboration with my wife Marnie Mosher we designed and built
these complimenting baltic birch plywood pieces of furnature. The
table features hairpin legs and ample room for toy storage. The
dodecahedron was a satisfying challenge to fabricate, involving a
series of jigs and finely tuned multi-axis cuts to accomplish. Intended
as a cat-cave and stool, it has found countless other uses both
practical and playful.

9. The development of these pedal straps became the beginning
of YNOT Cycle, a company I co-founded and in which I played
an integral role in the first five years. The straps use heavy-duty
nylon for the lower half and Cordura-wrapped nylon webbing for
the uppers, creating a very durable and form-retaining product.
Designed to be used by fixed-gear riders, messengers, mountain-
bikers and tourers. The popularity of the product gave us some
freedom to expand our operations into backpacks and other
accessories.
Role in project:
Product designer, product tester, production manager.

10. Needing a jacket that could handle our Boxer’s boisterous play, I
designed and prototyped her a coat that ultimately became the first
Mosher Originals product. The goal was to create a waterproof,
insulated and rugged coat; thus, it’s built using the same heavy duty
materials with which I was already familiar. By using my self-generated
digitized version of the templates, custom-fitted jackets can be made.
Using the dogs meaurements the templates are scaled and then plotted,
allowing unlimited adjustments.

Product designer, prototyper, manufacturer, company founder.

back. The zippered pocket holds an ice pack to keep the drinks
and your back cool. Fibreglass support rods and high density foam
allow the user to sit comfortably on the ground wherever they like.
Ideal for park hangouts, camping, fishing and general lounging.
