• WHAT YOU NEED BEFORE WE START:
• Laptop
• Internet connection
• Personal Email Account (Gmail, Hotmail etc.)
• Photos of yourself and your work (Videos even better!!)
• Text describing your skills, experience and projects you
have worked on

4. Site Setup (1/2)
1. Go to
www.wix.com
2. Click Start Now
3. Create an account
(Email, I’m a New
User, Password,
GO!!)
4. Confirm Email and
Password
5. Select your
Category (Business
& Services –
Maintenance
Services, GO!!)
6. Select your
template (House
Painters – EDIT!!)

5. Site Setup (2/2)
1. Click PUBLISH (at top right of
screen)
2. Choose your website name or
Domain (e.g.
TomBowcuttDecorating) and
click SAVE & CONTINUE
3. Click PUBLISH NOW
4. Click VIEW SITE
CONGRATULATIONS – you
now have you very own
website!!

6. Edit Home Page (1/3)
1. Go back to the Edit View
2. Click on THE PAINTING COMPANY and change the text to Your Company Name
(e.g. Tom Bowcutt Decorating)
3. Do the same for CALL US and add your phone number

7. Edit Home Page (2/3)
1. Change your Home Page Image
– Click on the main image showing the paint pots
– Click CHANGE IMAGE
– Upload an IMAGE (use your own, from training files or Free From WIX)
– APPLY the new image
2. Crop and Edit Your Image
– Click on Your New Image and select CROP & EDIT
– Crop your image
– Apply some filter and effects if you like

8. Edit Home Page (3/3)
1. Use what you have learnt so far to:
– Put the correct phone number below your contact form
– Change the Image in the Our Vision and Colour Choice sections
– Edit the text in Our Vision and Colour Choice Sections
– Update Company Name at the bottom of your Site
– Update the text in the Let Us Paint Your House section
2. Save and Publish Your Site

9. Test Your Home Page
1. What happens when you request an estimate via your Home Page?
- Check your personal EMAIL
- Check your CONTACTS list in the WIX dashboard
- Send out a newsletter to your CONTACTS via the dashboard
2. What happens when you click Hire Us?

10. Setup Your Contact Page
1. Within the WIX Editor, select PAGES menu and then Click on CONTACT.
2. Update details on your CONTACT Page
- Change your phone number
- Update the Map:
- Set Your Location
- Change Your Company Name
3. Save and Publish and Test Your HIRE ME Link and Contact Form

11. Edit Page Structure
1. Rename the Commercial Page to OUR WORK via the PAGE MENU
2. Delete the Residential Page and Sub Pages via the PAGE MENU
3. Save and Publish

12. Use What You Have Learnt
1. Edit your About Us page to give some info about you and your skills
2. Edit your Our Work page to describe some of the projects your have worked on.
