1. Relate To People. I pick up on things about
people and notice clues to their true passions and
start a conversation. As people are talking about
themselves and I’m relating to them, whatever
they say is perfectly acceptable to me. This cre-
ates an open and trusting environment where it’s
perfectly fine to be you. I often notice the people
who are different, who are trying to go against the
flow. I take all of the pieces of their story and find
the common theme that is their passion.
2. Hang Out. Once I connect with someone and their
passion, I go into their world to experience their
passion and hang out with them. I’m curious, so I’ll
talk to them about their stories and experience their
life with them. Whatever the environment, I adapt.
I’m looking for them to show me who they are.
3. Paint The Future. Once I’ve seen and expe-
rienced someone’s world, I see what’s holding
them back from living a life they’re excited and
passionate about. I ask questions to nudge them
so they describe what they want to do, and then
paint a clear picture so they can graphically see
their idea. I make it feel as real and tangible as
possible so they can see it and have hope for a
better future.
4. Crazy Experiences. I get people to go on fun adventures with me and push
them beyond society’s expectations of how they “should” go through life. This
breaks them out of their traps — where they’re set in their ways, both physically
and mentally — and gives them the freedom and confidence to do whatever they
want. I love seeing people overcome their doubts and accomplish something they
never would have done before.
5. Simplify. To me, there’s always a simple explanation. I help people understand
things through my simple view and see things from start to finish. When there’s
complexity, I see it as a smokescreen or a shield that prevents people from trying
things so I make them simple. I encourage people to pick an option and see what
happens, not worrying about the details and the excuses. It might not be the best
way, but they’ll see, experience, and feel what it’s like to be in the unknown.
6. Build. I help take ideas and make them real. I see in three dimensions in my mind
and create a custom-fit, 3D design that’s simple to build.
7. Connect. I bring people with similar passions together so they can brainstorm
their ideas and be more of themselves. I don’t want people to feel alone, rejected,
or on the outside. It drives me to see people working together, succeeding, and
having fun. I convince people to let others in on their dreams.
8. Help People. I have an underlying Faith that is a general guide for me that’s
always there. I believe in leaving the world better than I found it. I want to help
people believe in themselves.
9. Adventurer. I go on adventures, see new things, and have new experiences.
They’re usually not well planned out. Once I’m there, I figure out the next step.
I seek out the non-traditional, immerse myself in a culture, and see the real stuff,
not the fake exterior. I then use my experiences as a conversation starter to help
me relate to people in the future.
10. Test Things. I test tools and gadgets to figure out the best one for the job and
to simplify people’s lives. I’m able to give advice and share my experiences and
learning if someone asks or is interested.
11. Who Cares? Both mentally and physically, I’m confident in myself. I don’t doubt
myself. What makes the biggest difference to me is that I’m good enough. I don’t
care what my abilities are, I’m just going to go and see what happens. I don’t care
about the result. I don’t care about labels. I don’t need to be the best — good
enough is fine with me.
