1. ACU Faculty of Law and Business celebrates ERA results
The followingnotes confirmthe ERA (Excellence in Research for Australia) 2015 results for the ACU
Facultyof Law and Business. The Faculty contributed to the ERA exercise via two discipline domain
submissions in FoR 1503 (Business and Management) and FoR 1801 (Law).
Research has been evaluated by a panel of national and international experts, informed by peer
reviewof asample of researchoutputs.The evaluationprocesshas now been completed and panel
recommendationshave beenfinalized.The quality of both submissions attracted a quality rating of
‘3’, that is: research quality at world standard!!
Professor Thomas Lange, the Faculty’s Associate Dean Research commented:
“The publicised quality of research is a very important market differentiator. Our ERA returns will
help us promote our research strengths on the world stage. Colleagues as well as prospective
students across the globe take note of these important developments. What is more, research
excellence informs our teaching – for the benefit of our students – and engages our staff with

The ERA results were announced as ACU reflects on its second successful year of research
intensification – a five-year strategy developed in response to changes in the Australian Higher
Education sector, with a focus on high quality publications a defining characteristic.
