Medical
Alert
LifeStation
Who Are They?
LifeStation is a medical alert device provider that has been in business for 10 years and
assists in providing the emergency care that their senior citizen customers rely on in
case of emergency. Their UL-listed and certified care specialists are able to offer some
of the best care in emergency situations. Each of their specialists are CSAA certified so
customers can know their receiving the best attention.
LifeStation provides nationwide service, even to those who don’t have a landline.
What Services Do They Offer?
Their main device is a medical alarm system that can either be worn as a wristband or a neck
pendant. This medical alert device comes with a speaker and voice capability so that the care
specialist can communicate with the customer even if they have fallen and injured themselves.
Those who are unable to speak can still use the device as the monitoring center contacts
emergency services once the button has been pushed and help is sent to the home.
They also offer free activation services, a lifetime warranty and monitoring services and assistance
day and night, 365 days a year.
Company History
LifeStation devices are designed by “industry veterans”. Their monitoring center is ULlisted and
CSAA certified and they guarantee they’ll be there to answer every call anytime when needed.
For 10 years they’ve been providing emergency assistance and medical alert devices to help ease
the worry of seniors who want to live independently without worrying about becoming injured
with no one around to help them.
FAQ Page
The LifeStation FAQ page is quite long and covers dozens of questions with topics regarding
services, billing inquiries and equipment questions. Just about every question a potential
customer might ask can likely be found on this page.
Some questions include:
• “What if I press the help button by mistake?”
• “What if I am unable to speak when I press the emergency button or help button?”
• “Can I have LifeStation installed at my parent’s home and have it billed to me?”
• “What are my billing options?”
• “Are there any other costs in addition to the monitoring fee?”
How Do They Rate With The BBB?
LifeStation rates as highly as possible with the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating due to a
number of factors. The factors that contributed to raising their overall score include the length of
time they’ve been operating as a business, their complaint volume based off of a business of their
size, their prompt responses to the complaints that they receive and the resolution of those
complaints.
The Better Business Bureau also has sufficient background information on LifeStation to rate them
highly and recognize them as a legitimate business in good standing.
What Do Their Services Cost?
Since LifeStation offers only one main kind of equipment device, their pricing options are pretty
straight forward. For those who are willing and able to pay one annual payment right upfront,
they can expect to pay a few dollars less on average per month. For example, annual payments
average out to $25.95 per month with no equipment charges, free shipping, no extra fees and the
ability to cancel their services at any time.
Quarterly payments average out to $27.95 a month and include the same free shipping and
cancellation abilities and free equipment.
Those who just want to pay month to month can expect to pay $29.95 per month with free
shipping of equipment, no long term contract and the ability to cancel at any time.
Additional Website Resources
For the most part, the LifeStation website is pretty straight forward and doesn’t offer many
additional resources apart from their product information and descriptions of their service. They
do provide a few testimonials of their products, though.
Who Are Their Customers?
LifeStation customers are the elderly and the families and friends of elderly individuals who are
still able to live a relatively independent life but just require a little back up protection to ensure
their daily safety and well being.
LifeStation provides a straightforward medical alert system device so their customers are also
those who are looking for a simple solution at an affordable price.
What Makes Them Stand Out?
Their device is waterproof which makes it possible for consumers to shower without the fear of
falling and not receiving help. All of LifeStation’s monitoring centers are UL-listed and all of their
specialists are CSAA certified which provides extra peace of mind. Another aspect of LifeStation’s
methods that makes them stand out is their encouragement of creating a plan of action for all
their customers to follow should an accident occur. This way, if an incident does occur, their
customers have already considered their course of action for resolving the problem which helps
them get help quicker.
Are They On Social Media?
LifeStation has a Facebook and Twitter account, each with about 400 followers. They post regularly
with topics on subjects that concern senior citizen such as flu season vaccine reminders, Medicare
tips and advice, humor, men’s health issues, women’s health issues, and interesting articles. There
isn’t a lot of visible feedback to their posts, particularly on Facebook where most of the time no
“likes” or comments are ever received, but that is probably not out of the ordinary considering the
demographic.
Possible Negatives
Those who are wanting to make sure their spouse or both of their parents are covered by
LifeStation services at the same time can expect to pay an additional fee to cover an additional
person, but this fee is small and at $3.99 for an extra help button, it’s a small price to pay to make
sure all concerned persons are covered.
Their in-home medical alert systems require a landline in order to work which may be an
inconvenience for many potential customers.
Ranking With TBC
TheBestCompanys.com (TBC) gives LifeStation a rating of 7.9 due to lifetime warranties, free
activation and wireless and mobile phone-ready alerts. LifeStation works nationwide and has
teamed up with nationwide cellular providers to help make sure all their clients anywhere in the
US are able to receive full monitoring services whether they have a landline or not.
If any consumer wishes to cancel their contract, they are required to give a 30 day cancellation
notice.
