Peter DiCampo is a documentary photographer working to
dismantle misperceptions about Africa. His stunning photos
are among the works by rising photography stars being
shown in the exhibition “Emerging” at The Annenberg Space
for Photography, June 6–September 20. Each of the exhibi-
tion’s 90 featured photographers from around the world
brings a fresh approach, with subject matter ranging from
personal reflection to global concerns.
“Emerging” showcases 100 photographic prints, along
with videos, multimedia displays, books, zines and an
original documentary.
Another artist spotlighted in the exhibition is Justin Fantl,
whose works (one of which is above) make use of bold colors
and compositions, in both studio and outdoor photography.
Still another contributor to “Emerging” is Brooklyn-based
photographer-director Olivia Bee, originally from Portland,
Oregon. In her early teens, Bee began her career using Flickr.
By age 19 she had presented two TEDx Talks about talent and
innovation, and already had commercial clients such as
Hermès and Nike.
