Operational Project Problem.
As an organization grows, it experiences different operational
problems in progress. These issues can be long-term or short-
term, requiring different strategies to solve them. Management
in an organization can work to solve a functional problem and
justify it as solving a short-term problem that impacts things
such as throughput. However, the issue becomes a problem
when the business starts making fewer profits, and some exceed
to experience losses if not solved. One of the common operating
problems encountered by many companies is finding the right
staff.
As the business grows, it demands more human resource support
to cater to increasing customer needs. For example, if it is a
hotel business, different departments like production, service,
front office, housekeeping, and maintenance will need more
staff to meet customers' expectations. The operation problem
arises when recruiting specific candidates in each and every
department. The HR department is the department responsible
for hiring new staff whenever needed, but it's not that easy. The
potential candidates must have the necessary skills and observe
the organizational policies and ethical practices.
Several factors cause the problem of hiring the rights staff:
1. Identifying suitable candidates from a pool full of
unqualified talent makes the organization hire people available
rather than the best.
2. We are hiring fast to avoid losing money and delaying
operations.
3. Some situation requires immediate hiring, which may cost the
organization and create a bad reputation if the new staff mess
up for being unfamiliar with how the organization operates.
By the end of this project, I hope to provide essential
information to the HR department. This information will contain
what to do before, during, and after the hiring process.

ACME Project Charter
Introduction
Business objectives, critical success factors, quality standards,
and roles and duties are all outlined in the Project Charter.
ACME contributed to the creation of the Charter. ACME has
Clear expectations, and ACME must establish a robust project
management foundation to ensure the project's success. The
upgrade delivery phase will begin after ACME adopts the
Charter. The Charter will need to be utilized by ACME to
monitor progress and determine success.
Project Mission Statement (NOT ORGANIZATION)
To ensure that everyone has enough energy, health, and pleasure
by producing ethical drugs and medications reasonably priced
and expanding in domestic and foreign markets.
Project Scope
The ACME modernization process has four phases: testing,
construction, discovery, and training. ACME will outline the
scope of work in the following sections. Before ACME can
make any changes to this scope, there must be a change
management mechanism before ACME makes any changes.
Therefore, there will be additional information and a sample
Change Request Form.
High-level Requirements
Upgrade to CXS v12 by clicking here is the primary objective
of the Upgrade project. As a result, ACME will be able to
handle more of the system's day-to-day administration and
reporting, free AComPany Ltd from holding it.
Currently, ACME is looking for a consultant to assist with the
modernization of its CXS software. ACME can now make use of
the newly-added languages due to this upgrade.
Assigned Project Manager and Authority Level
V. Smith will manage the project's duration, including the
budget, schedule, scope, and performance. Beyond that, the
executive team and the physician champions must agree.
Summary Milestones
Key dates
The project will kick off on May 2
ACME will define metrics on June 10
Planning will occur for 3.5 months
Implementation will go live on June 28
Stakeholder Influences
Program Board: It is the responsibility of the Program Board to
oversee the program's overall direction and oversee the
improvement project. Once the upgrade is complete, it signs off
to ensure that the business objectives outlined in the SOW can
be met by everyone involved.
Steering group: They decide how to proceed each day based on
what they've learned from previous days. Board of Directors:
SOWs, the Project Charter, and any Change Orders or Exception
reports that do not clash with the Program Board's schedule or
the budget delegated to the appropriate individuals. It answers
the Program Board. Having enough ACME employees to
complete the project and entrusting them with the task will
ensure it is done on schedule and within budget.
Functional Organizations and Their Participation
The following departments will be part of this project;
Purchasing department- The manufacturing division's raw
materials and services are provided to the purchasing
department to meet customers' demands.
Local health department: The manufacturing division's raw
materials and services are provided to the purchasing
department to meet customers' demands.
Organizational Environmental and External Assumptions and
Constraints
Time: More minor or more time will be required to complete the
project's tasks. The success of a project depends on several
factors, including the number of individuals involved, their
talents, and their experience. Uncontrollable time is an essential
but uncontrollable component. If deadlines are not met, awful
things can happen. The most typical cause of a company's
failure to grow is a lack of funds or other resources.
Cost: Both the project manager and the organization must come
up with a cost estimate before commencing a project. Having a
budget ensures that projects are completed on time and under
budget. Project managers may need to use more resources to
achieve deadlines, which will increase the project's cost.
Financial Business Case
The return on investment will be the primary focus of this
project.
The more clients come in because of the contact center, and the
quicker it is to get in, the more money this project will make
from the visit and any tests or procedures. Downstream
interventions, such as primary prevention, are crucial to help
people make positive alterations in their lives or obtain
assistance. As a few examples: behavioral modification
initiatives, health information, and communication channels
such as social media. The phrase "midstream interventions" will
refer to those that help people improve their mental states and
behaviors.

Designing a Study
The chosen operational problem is finding the right staff for
businesses. Having the right team is a critical problem,
especially as a company grows as its customer needs also grow.
The issue also arises when a business hires new employees to
various departments, requiring people with the right skills. It is
also a critical problem since it impacts organizational
performance (Ekwoaba, Ikeije, & Ufoma, 2015). Identifying
suitable candidates with the right skills can be challenging,
especially since skills do not guarantee that the organizati on
will hire eligible candidates. Therefore, the prospective
employees should have characteristics and skills that they can
use to meet the organization's needs, and organizations should
be objective in their recruitment process.
Hypothesis
This study examines the role of recruitment and selection in
finding the right staff to meet business needs. It will be crucial
to study and hypothesize the objective: that:
1. Recruitment and selection criteria have a significant effect on
finding the right team to meet organizational needs
2. The more purpose an organization is in its recruitment
process, the more it will find the right staff.
The data that will be collected and
measured
The study will collect and measure qualitative data on
recruitment and selection criteria from various organizations. It
will also collect data on the performance to see if there is a link
between those organizations to determine whether employee
recruitment and selection criteria are linked to organizational
performance.
Why Choose this Data
Qualitative data provides depth and detail, and thus it will
enable the researcher to analyze the problem and find solutions
to the issue critically. The study will rely on this data because
recruitment and selection form an essential part of most
organizations' resourcing strategies that identify and secure
people needed to meet the organization's objectives.
Additionally, the primary purpose of recruitment and selection
is to create a pool of suitable candidates to select the right staff.
This data will also help determine some of the challenges in the
hiring process that make organizations end up with the wrong
team who cannot meet their objectives. Finally, it will further
help the study elaborate on objectivity's value during the hiring
process.
Method of Data Collection
The study will use desk data collection to obtain data from
existing resources such as the internet, published articles, and
the library. It will rely on case studies of various organizations
to collect the needed data. The case studies will focus on
multiple organizations' recruitment and selection criteria. The
case studies will help draw inferences and conclude the various
recruiting and selecting candidates for a job. These case studies
will also provide an analysis of the performance of the
organizations. In addition, the study will also conduct a review
of relevant literature that focuses on the objective of the study.
How the data will help in finding a solution to
the problem
The problem is how businesses and organizations can find the
right staff best suited for meeting their objectives. The data will
help critically analyze the situation from a recruitment
perspective and its impact on organizational performance. The
collected data will also help find a solution to the problem
because it will offer an analysis of various recruitment and
selection criteria and how each contributes to the performance
of an organization. The study will emphasize the value of
objectivity during recruitment and selection processes within
organizations through the data.

Refer back to Chapter 10 in your text, beginning on page 259,
where we discussed Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Kaizen
events. Referring back to the operational problem you are
working to solve for your final paper. To continue working on
solving this problem, this assignment asks you to build a Value
Stream Map.
Please include the following information on your value stream
map:
1. Complete 1 Value Stream Map
1) Build a value stream map of your problem - this
should be current state of your problem. (Ex/ Problem - wait
times in primary care clinic. VSM the steps, in current state,
when the patient presents to when they are roomed).
a. Identify and clearly show at least 2 kaizen
opportunities - these should be easy to pull out by "bursts" in
your VSM. (Ex/ Problem - wait times in primary care clinic.
In current workstream, patients arrive 5 minutes before visit
time - this could be a kaizen event; during registration there is
no pre-registration done, kaizen event two).
2. Please include a narrative explaining what your map is
telling the reader and why you chose the two kaizen events.
Your narrative should tell the reader what your workstream is
current state and the two kaizen events you chose and why.
Paper Requirements
APA formatting
Value Stream Map - please use Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, or
Excel to build the map (if you have a mac, Apple applications
are also acceptable). A handwritten map will not be accepted.
Narrative
*You can submit each document separate or as one file,
whichever works best based on how you build the VSM.
**Please refer to pg. 262 for an example of a Value Stream
Map.
Please see attached an example/template for a VSM. 615 VSM
