This paper will focus on mutual characteristics between two paintings that I have chosen for my review. One of the paintings is from the historical related to surrealism, titled Dreams Caused by Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening by Salvador Dali. The other one is a painting from a period connected to nostalgia titled The Nightmare by Henry Fuseli. The two images segment a common theme of dreams/ sleep. The nightmare painting is a 40 in x 50 in (101.6 cm x127cm). It has dimensional oil on canvas painting which was created in 1781 by Henry Fuseli. The drawing was first exhibited at London Royal Academy after its painting in England. Currently, it is located at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The second work of art is Salvador Dali's work of art, Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second before Awakening of 1944, was one among few artworks. The physical dimensions are of this artwork are 20in *15.9 in (51cm *40.5cm), and the intermediate used to paint its duplicate is oil in wood and currently found in Museo Thyssen- Bornemisza in Madrid. In The Nightmare, there is the use of images interpretations that have hauntings and eroticism. The painting was made when the illustrator treaded out by going on all generalized ideas. In Dreams Caused by the Flight of a Bee, a Pomegranate a Second before Awakening gives us a declaration of power that drives civilization. Dreams have shown significant ability, which takes over the pain, anxiety, pleasure, and fear amongst different people. The paintings expressed are not organized rationally, which makes society and culture have changes and similarities. Overall, one can trigger how the theme of the Dream is profoundly demonstrated as per the childhood phobia and other sexual tension. ...
