I am animal geneticist with a particular interest on genetic analysis of robustness and loci that underlie local adaptation and Mendelian variation. I have extensive experience on livestock production systems of the least developed world. I have visited a number of European countries while studying my MSc and PhD with some visits to Asia and Africa. Studies involving large sample size, high density genetic markers and a wide geographic range passionate me. Genomics work in the context of applied research makes my core interest. I taught a number of courses related to livestock production, animal breeding and genetics at College and University levels in Ethiopia.
