WORK EXPERIENCE
July 1998 Research assistant with the Forestry Research Institute of
Athens as part of practical training required by the
university degree. Duties included research and data
analysis of forestry experiments.
Nov. 2000-Aug. 2001 Establishment and monitoring of field trials concerning
the feasibility of large scale snail farming in the district of
Viannos, Crete.
Nov. 2000- Feb. 2001 Supervisor and responsible for the harvesting of the olive
production in a large olive plantation (12 ha) in the
district of Viannos, Crete.

Dec. 2001- Aug. 2002 Short term assignment in the Greek National Committee
for Combating Desertification (GNCCD), for assistance in
the editing of proceedings of Athens MEDRAP workshop
and the writing of the Greek National Report submitted to
the UNCCD secretariat for the 1st
session of the
Committee for Review of the Implementation of the
Convention (1st
CRIC)
Aug.2002-Oct. 2005 Assignment in the “Desertification” project of the
National Agricultural Research Foundation (NAGREF)
for collection of data related to desertification, the editing
of relevant papers and reports in cooperation with the
Greek National Committee for Combating Desertification.
Participation in various research projects related to
desertification (MEDRAP, DISMED, CLEMDES, and
DESERTWATCH).
June 2002-Sept. 2003 Contract with the Aegean University for contributing to
the editing of MEDACTION-MODULE 4,
“Desertification policy Support Framework”. Specifically,
for analyzing the soil protection policy on international
level, on EU level and regarding four European countries
of the northern Mediterranean (Greece, Italy, Spain,
Portugal).
April 2006- July 2006 Permanent contract for working in the National
Agricultural Research Foundation (NAGREF).
Temporary assignment in the sector of Project Financial
Management.
July 2006 Transferred in the Agricultural Research Station of
Ierapetra in Crete, supervising field experiments on
greenhouse vegetable production related to plant breeding
and greenhouse cover materials.
Sept. 2006- Apr. 2014 Undertaking duties of Assistant Director in the
Agricultural Research Station of Ierapetra. On July 2010
the position of assistant director was abolished due to
changes on the administration chart of NAGREF.
Apr. 2014- Jan. 2015 Transferred to the Institute of Viticulture, Vegetable crops
and Floriculture of Heraklion, laboratory of Viticulture of
ELGO- DEMETRA (former NAGREF).
Jan.2015- Today Transferred to the recently formed Department of
Agricultural Advice and Transfer of Innovation of ELGO-
DEMETRA for the region of Crete. Responsible for the
operation of the Agricultural Research Stations of
Ierapetra, Messara and Assomatoi (Crete)
