The inner ear consists of the bony labyrinth and membranous labyrinth contained within. The bony labyrinth includes the vestibule, semicircular canals, and cochlea. The membranous labyrinth contains the cochlear duct, utricle, saccule, three semicircular canals, and endolymphatic duct. Within the cochlea lies the organ of Corti which contains the hair cells that transduce sound vibrations into neural signals. The inner ear is supplied by the internal auditory artery and drains into the sigmoid sinus and petrosal sinuses.

vesicles found in great
numbers in cytoplasm.
