David R Hamilton PhD has a first class honours degree in chemistry, specialising in biological and medicinal chemistry. After completing his PhD, he worked for 4 years in the pharmaceutical industry developing drugs for cardiovascular disease and cancer. Working in drug development exposed him to the placebo effect. Fascinated by the placebo effect he began to study mind-body interactions in his spare time.
