As a nurse I must be culturally competent; aware of the patient's values and advocate for my patients, this includes being sensitive to all the needs of the patient. Providing holistic care means addressing not only the physical necessities of patients but the emotional, mental and spiritual health as well. Nursing practice does not remain in stasis, but is ever-changing, and so must the care we give. I am highly appreciative of the implementation of innovative and evidence-based patient care.
