6. Specific Objectives
The growth rate of transport sector (land, water & air) and the growth rate of GDP.
The growth rate of support transport services, storage sector and the growth rate of
GDP
the growth rate of post and telecommunication sector and the growth rate of GDP
To find out the level of impact and relationship between
7. Specific Objectives (Cont’d)
Perform the Regression analysis.
Testing the usefulness of the model.
Testing partial regression co efficient.
Testing correlation co efficient.
To get the practical exposure of statistical analysis
8. LIMITATIONS
• Insufficient data source
• Misleading data
• Lacking of the implementation
data of the budget.
Help us to make more accurate strategy
for infrastructure development
SCOPE
25. Hypothesis Development for the correlation
Hypothesis testing of population correlation between GDP Total and Transport, Support
transport and storage and post and telecom sector:
Ho : þ = 0 (The correlation in the population is zero)
H1 : þ ≠ 0 (The correlation in the population is different from zero)
P- values
GDP vs Total GDP of Land 0.00000599<.05
GDP vs total GDP of Water 0.000185452 <.05
GDP vs total GDP of Air 0.000909386 <.05
GDP vs total GDP of Support & 0.0000000733<.05
Storage
GDP vs total GDP of Post & 0.0000000496<.05
Telecommunication
27. Corresponding Hypothesis
Hypothesis testing:
Ho : β = 0 (GDP of Land Transport doesn’t have any impact on GDP Total)
H1 : β ≠ 0 GDP of Land Transport has an impact on GDP Total)
Here, p-value is 0.0000679 which is less than .05, so we fail to reject the null
hypothesis. So GDP of Land Transport has an impact on GDP Total.
29. Corresponding Hypothesis
Hypothesis testing:
Ho : β = 0 (GDP of water transport doesn’t have any impact on GDP Total)
H1 : β ≠ 0 (GDP of water transport has an impact on GDP Total)
Here, p-value is 0.0008317 which is less than .05, so we can reject the null
hypothesis. So GDP of water transport has an impact on GDP Total.
31. Corresponding Hypothesis
Hypothesis testing:
Ho : β = 0 (GDP of air transport doesn’t have any impact on GDP Total)
H1 : β ≠ 0 (GDP of air transport has an impact on GDP Total)
Here, p-value is 0.0027 which is less than .05, so we reject the null hypothesis. So
GDP of air transport has an impact on GDP Total.
33. Corresponding Hypothesis
Hypothesis testing:
Ho : β = 0 (GDP of support transport services and storage doesn’t have any impact
on GDP Total)
H1 : β ≠ 0 (GDP of support transport services and storage has an impact on GDP
Total)
Here, p-value is 0.00000285 which is greater than .05, so we reject the null
hypothesis. So Growth rate of support transport services and storage has an impact
on GDP Total.
35. Corresponding Hypothesis
Hypothesis testing:
Ho : β = 0 (GDP of post and telecom doesn’t have any impact on GDP Total)
H1 : β ≠ 0 (GDP of post and telecom has an impact on GDP Total)
Here, p-value is 0.00000216 which is less than .05, so we can reject the null
hypothesis. So GDP of post and telecom has an impact on GDP Total.
37. Corresponding Hypothesis
By using the ANOVA table, we can judge the effectiveness of the model.
Let,
Ho : β1 = β2 = β3= β4 = β5 = 0 (The model is useful/fit)
H1 : At least one β ≠ 0 (The model is not useful/fit)
Here, p-value is 0.000180 which is less than 0.05, so we can conclude that the regression
model of estimating the GDP Total is useful/fit.
38. Conclusion
The purpose of our study is to determine the relationship among this sector and the
whole GDP change of Bangladesh. As we found some strong relationship here so any kind
of NGO’s who are working for the infrastructure development, the foreign investors as
well as the government and the corresponding ministry will get a guideline by this study.
