Dear Sirs,
With reference to our recent conversation, the following equation may clarify the situation.
G.D.P = Mean Salary
Total Population of Country
Mean Salary x Total Population of Country = G.D.P.
If you divide the G.D.P. of one country with another, this will give you the exchange rate of the
chosen country. When using this formula I have used the U.K. as the basic unit, taking into
account infrastructure developments, welfare state and so on.
12
e.g. The G.D.P. of the U.K. is £1.95
6
The Total Population of the U.K. is 59
6
The Total Population of the U.S.A. is 281
12
1.95 = £33,050
6
59
6 12
33050 x 59 = 1.95
6 12
33050 x 281 = 9.29
12
9.29 = US$4.76
12
1.95
Now if we follow the same process to calculate the Jamaican exchange rate.
6 10
33050 x 2.5 = 7.5
10
7.5 = J$0.039
12
1.95
Friday 2nd September it was valued at J$114.365
2. Now if you apply a flat rate tax of 10%:
33050 x 10 = 3305
100
6 9
J$3,305 x 2.5 = J$8.26 per tax year.
The revenue could then be used to improve your infrastructure.
If you require any further information, do not hesitate to contact me at the above address and
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours faithfully
R M Williams
