Based in New York, Roger Coleman is a Barron's Hall of Fame financial executive who leads Disaster Tech, Inc., as president and CEO. A core focus of Roger Coleman’s Internet-based data visualization and exploration platform is to provide real-time decision-support technologies in disaster situations where operational coordination and situational awareness are essential. In March 2021, the veteran-owned New York emergency management firm announced the appointment of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health distinguished senior fellow Rich Serino to the corporate board. With more than four decades of experience in the disaster preparedness and response sphere, Serino held innovation-focused roles as FEMA deputy administrator and MIT Urban Risk Lab senior advisor. In a position as Boston Public Health Commission assistant director of health, he drew up emergency response plans for H1N1 influenza as well as biological, chemical, and radiological attacks. Serino’s presence on the board was described as a welcome development, especially as climate and weather disasters are accelerating on a global scale and new strategies of emergency management are required. The aim is to leverage his in-depth knowledge in expanding a user-focused platform that enables emergency managers to reduce time and costs, while saving lives.
