In November 2019, they came up with a video ā€œWhen You Date A Malayaliā€ which
comically assumed the circumstances that could occur when a North Indian guy
dates a Malayali girl. The video starts with the Malayali girl trying her best to
teach her partner to learn a certain Malayali text of words by heart by slowly
articulating each word one by one. The guy, however, is not able to learn it and
utters gibberish instead. This Malayalam piece of text had a pan-Indian rise of
fame towards the very end of last century and has remained famous ever since
although no one except Malayalis have known the exact pronunciation.
What text of Malayalam words is this, that lasts approximately 30 seconds?

Although X reluctantly studied classics (Greek and Latin) and other languages

are some famous ones with origins from other languages such as an Aramaic,

The USS Hornet (CV-12) is an American navy ship that played a major role during
the Second World War, participating in the attack on Japanese installations in the
Paciļ¬c. It was also involved in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
One of the last missions of it, just months before its decommission about 50 years
ago, involved the ship halting at a location in the middle of the Paciļ¬c Ocean
about 950 miles southwest of Hawaii. The operation was codenamed ā€œHornet Plus

In the summer of 2012, an overnight robbery of it from a car parked at a London
locality was reported. Along with it, its enclosure, a glove and another apparatus
that was used to control it were stolen when the rear window of the car was open

It annually comes to fame in the summer to serve an important function of
preventing certain distractions to appear at some annual matches. When it was
stolen and taken away, the Daily Mail come up with an article with a punny title,

These detachable fragments of Scandinavian origin products have had an odd
feature in place that lot of people have wondered about the reason for. Despite
depriving a bit of the product's aesthetic quantity and having no functional
purpose related to the product, it actually is a safety measure, which is the sole
reason.
When these aforementioned fragments are consumed by children, they might get
stuck in the windpipes of the children. Thus, the feature enables them to still

A 2012 paper by James Downey and Michael Cohen talks about the impact of
certain proteins called adenosine receptors on prevention of heart attacks post
issues such as contraction of arteries.
Through lab experiments, the impact of three such classes of proteins A1, A2A
and A3 were conļ¬rmed which resulted in decisions to use them in medication for
the same or not. However, another such class of proteins A2B showed more
positive signs of preventing heart attacks but it was only observed in certain
situations when the hearts were subject to certain conditions. Thus, the title of
the paper is a clever pun that conveys the doubt of using A2B receptors in
medication and uses a famous 10-word phrase from the late Medieval period.
What is the punny title of this research paper?

Back in 2011, this device was developed by computer students of University of
Illinois to help certain people in Kenya and South Africa with their daily
surveillance job. Earlier methods to do the same job involved painted numbers
and forcibly imbedding electronic sensors which were inefficient or costly.
The device receives input data via a camera and makes use of a differentiating
factor of the subjects to uniquely identify each. Tanya Berger-Wolf, the professor
in charge, mentioned that this data of the same factors is then converted to
familiar type of binary images for the device to recognize and store data, thus
having a similar working principle as a commonly sighted device.

Starting from the 18th century, this Far Eastern practice speciļ¬c to certain people
is even followed by these people prominently today. The practice has one
symbolic purpose to convey loyalty and had one long term practical purpose back
in the day.
The practical purpose during the 18th and 19th centuries of this practice was to
make sure that the individuals who were interested to be a part of it had a much
lesser of a ļ¬rm grip on their swords during physical attacks, which lead to them
not being able to defend themselves on their own. This resulted in them being
dependent on their counterparts and supervisors or vulnerable if the same

It is said that 1000 children in India die daily due to poor hand hygiene and
the majority of these children are from rural areas as soaps are a luxury for
many rural households thus limiting their practice of washing hands
regularly.
Because of this, the brand Savlon, in collaboration with the advertising agency
Ogilvy & Mather, came up with an innovative solution to ļ¬nd a natural way for
children to sanitize their hands. The soaps were morphed into certain
inexpensive objects that these children use prominently as part of a
conventional method of something that most children do and are accustomed
to washing hands after their use.

Keith Haring (1958-1990) was a famous American graffiti artist originally from
northeastern US. During the start of his career in his late teens, Haring wanted
his works to be noticed by a huge amount of people and thus targeted certain
urban locations for his artworks so that he was able to reach out to a large
audience and also so that he was able to get away quickly.
The picture in the next slide shows him in the process of painting a 300 foot wide
graffiti with the major message behind the mural being unity among the natives.

Greg Nicotero is a prosthetic makeup supervisor who primarily works for horror
entertainment projects such as the ļ¬lm Day of the Dead and the Walking Dead,
most famous for his zombie designs.
However, one of his most famous contributions is a zombie face prosthetic design
that he used for a non-horror entertainment project a little more than a decade
ago for an iconic 30 second scene without any dialogue. Taking inspiration from
his own prosthetic designs for Walking Dead, this design had completely shut off
one eye of the concerned actor and was also too heavy. This made it difficult for
the actor to perform his slow movements but was still executed to perfection by
the actor.

The club was open to all 42000 men who were temporary residents at the location.
It was the main source of spirits in the area despite the scarcity of ingredients and
also provided recreation including a ping-pong table. The clubhouse, however,

In 2008, California based NPR News published an article about a certain high
schooler and a promising water polo player named Spencer. Despite his talent in
the sport, many around the world are aware of his ā€˜hydrophiliaā€™ via a different
claim to fame.
Spencer, himself, says in the article that his friends used to joke that they saw him
on particular days while buying something that has been in circulation for more
than 30 years now, despite Spencer's claims on not meeting them on those days.
The article was smartly titled "Once Naked For _______ (X), Now a ____ ______
(Y) " with Y being a part of an indirectly related olfactory simile.
How does the world know of Spencer's ā€˜hydrophiliaā€™ other than his talent in water
polo? FITB for Y.

This theory by a historian and author explains a popular and evident oddity and
was considered as the most plausible one for a long time for the same.
The theory starts in 1820 when a farmer on an island in the Aegean Sea (then
under the Ottoman rule) discovered something in a historic buried niche in his
farm. The French, who were on the island, came to know about it and bought it
from the farmer. As the French were leaving the island, the locals who were
patriotic rebels ambushed the departure of the French because they felt that it
was one of their own. This caused in a tussle involving this, whose sides
eventually hit the rocks on the shores during the tussle.
What does the theory try to explain, which is related to a current Parisian
possession?

A non-ļ¬ction book by Gregory Douglas accounts the interviews he had via phone
calls with a former CIA officer Robert Crowley, who was CIAā€™s clandestine
operations head in the 1950s and 1960s.
In one phone call, Crowley mentions how CIA took control of a situation in the 60s
which involved a supposed rising nuclear superpower who supposedly made use of
their relations with USSR to cope up with their wars. He mentioned that the CIA
saw this as a possible threat to USA and to eliminate it, he and the CIA went ahead
with two ultimately successful missions that were 13 days apart. One was based in a
former Soviet city that is now a national capital and the other in the Alps.
What, according to him, did the CIA do in these two missions?

MV Rhosus was an erstwhile ship which had a consignment of certain mining
essentials that had to be transported from the Georgian port of Batumi to a port
in the African country of Mozambique in September 2013.
The ship had to stop on the way at a major port city reportedly because of either
engine problems or insufficient funds to pay tolls for the Suez Canal. The local
ship control board then inspected the ship and found it unseaworthy because of
extensive damage, stranding the ship. This lead to the abandonment of the ship
which in turn caused lost need of the cargo in Mozambique and offloading of the
cargo at this port.
What was this the ļ¬rst domino of, which eventually had a huge long term impact
more than 5 years down the line from when Rhosus ļ¬rst halted here?

About six months ago, the advertising agency TBWA in collaboration with
McDonalds Netherlands came up with a non-edible 3D printed product shaped
like the iconic Big Mac which is their own version of an X, something that is used
in most homes in the West.
In addition to the usual function of the X, the product also provides an additional
capability due to the possible circumstances that could happen. The product,
however, is intended to be kept at only a speciļ¬c location in the house for
differentiation purposes and is not a replacement for an X.
What type of product, X, is this 3D printed Big Mac? What additional capability
does this product serve along with the usual function of an X and why?

A certain woman and her husband ļ¬rst set up a radio station in the mid 1950s at a
national park situated in the forests of southern Maharashtra. They named their
radio station ā€œVoz de Liberdadeā€. The content of their radio broadcasts even
resulted in illegal manhunts for them that put their lives in risk. Thus, they
shifted their radio station a little far away to forests around Belgaum.
The radio station was functional till the early 1960s after which it became
dysfunctional and the pair played a vital role in what caused the end of the radio
broadcasts. In a 2015 interview with Quint, she joked that while working at the
radio station, they also, in a way, shed blood towards what their aim was.
What purpose did their radio station serve? What caused the end to their radio
broadcasts? What was the blood shedding joke about?

  • 45. 6 A 2012 paper by James Downey and Michael Cohen talks about the impact of certain proteins called adenosine receptors on prevention of heart attacks post issues such as contraction of arteries. Through lab experiments, the impact of three such classes of proteins A1, A2A and A3 were conļ¬rmed which resulted in decisions to use them in medication for the same or not. However, another such class of proteins A2B showed more positive signs of preventing heart attacks but it was only observed in certain situations when the hearts were subject to certain conditions. Thus, the title of the paper is a clever pun that conveys the doubt of using A2B receptors in medication and uses a famous 10-word phrase from the late Medieval period. What is the punny title of this research paper?
