The leading suppliers of spikes in France are Codan and B. Braun Medical. This study examines in detail the hospital market for spikes for use in the preparation of cytostatics in 2008 and 2009. A distinction is made between standard spikes and closd system spikes. Each category is further divided into with without fluid filter/with fluid filter. For each product type, the report provides market size in volume and in value. Market structure in volume and in value and market shares in volume are given for all spikes. Consumption figures were collected direcly from hospitals, then analysed using linear regression. Analyses were performed for each category of hospital within the public and the private sectors separately.
