2. Would You Watch This Film?

I found through my research that it is mostly boys who would watch
this film, however, taking into consideration the age group of boys
Yes-Male who said they would watch it, I found that 6% of the 10-14 age
group said they would and 0% of girls in the same age group saying
Yes-Female
they wouldn't’t shows me that the certification should not be a 12 as
No-Male it doesn't appeal to most children of this age group.

Looking at my data, I found that mostly 19-29 year olds
would watch this film, from 25% of them saying yes and No- 10-14
the lowest percentage of those who said no. However, I
would not give the certificate an 18 because there was Yes- 15-17
a close 19% of 15-17 age group saying they would
watch it and I think we would be losing out if we No- 15-17
declined an extra 19% of viewers. Also, our film meets
the criteria of the 15 certificate rating.

4. Summary
Using the BBFC guidelines, I would class our film as a 15. I chose the rating 15 because
our film deals with storyline's which younger viewers may find disturbing and
upsetting. The opening 2mins doesn’t contain violence, strong language, sexual
references or the misuse of drugs. But knowing the synopsis, I know the rest of the
film
will contain these elements which are common in a psychological thriller film. Making
the film a 12 would limit us in our creation on an intense psychological film, for
example, we would have to be mindful of the language we use and would have to be
extra sensitive for the younger viewers. Making the film an 18 would restrict the
audience we would have as it would mean only adults could watch our play, this
would
limit the amount of views our film could reach.

were for a older teenage audience, because
they are the audience who spend more time
watching films at the cinema.
