JOB LESS UT ALUMNI SUES HER ALMA YORK UNIVERSITY
UT Alumni claims York's career centre did not help her find a job through work-study at Keele campus nor
Glendon campus. It even went to great lengths to intervene when she called for an interview in April 2004
at the time she was chosen through the Ontario Internship Program in 2004.
A UT grad who says she couldn't find a job – after six years of public service within the Ontario
government – is suing York University. She was expelled without a disciplinary hearing nor any
explaination why she was denied accommodation on her mid-term examinations.
An approximate eight(8) weeks later – on or about November 26, 27, 2004 – she was named a missing
homeless suspect by local police authorities investigating the scene of an investigation lasting over a four
month period.
The 32-year-old self-represented litigant filed a law suit against York University since she's been unable to
find a meaningful career within the Ontario government since she returned to York University for
2003/2004 sessions.
The 32-year-old is suing for over one $1 million dollars as a rsult of a major loss of opportunity in her
chosen field of choice. She says that she has been unable to find meaningful employment since she
received her 2nd degree from the University of Toronto in June 2002.
She says that York University officials did not provide her with the means nor career advice it provided
students with special needs. In fact, it intervened in March 2004 before the Office of Student Financial
Services reported her to the National Student Loans Service Centre despite interest relief granted (1st 52
months from Nov. 2004) and Human Resoures Social Development Canada for accuring interest on her
Canada-Ontario student loans from May 2009.
York University's correspondent questions the merit of civil proceedings & or judicial review involving York
University. She has now approached various non-for-profit organizations seeking public support.
'York U' insists that it keeps its graduates but it insistently defends that it is “interested” in provoking the
interests of persons with special needs. Fall 2009 will unravel the merit of this application for judicial
review as well as an ongoing civil academic appeal that could mean a serious unanticipated surprise for
the correspondents for York University.
